How do I get onto the Seniors Database?

The Seniors Database is open to anyone wishing to play for Border Seniors or in any Seniors-organised tournament. To be categorised as a Senior you need to be at least 30 years old in the current year. However, to also cater for young Veterans at provincial level. A young Senior is 18-30.

To be listed on the Seniors Database simply email your Name, Date of Birth, Club, Phone Numbers and Email address to admin@bordervetstennis.co.za



How do I get Selected to Play for Border Seniors?

You need to be Registered on the Border Seniors database. Players on the database are then classified according to whether they are Active or Inactive. If you are currently listed as an Inactive Player please email admin@bordervetstennis.co.za to Activate your membership.

Prior to a Seniors tournament each Active Seniors player is sent and SMS and/or Email requesting a response as to whether they are available for selection. You need to reply to your SMS and/or Email.

If you respond that you are available for Selection your name will go forward to the Selectors for consideration. If you are selected you will be sent an SMS and/or Email notifying you of which team you have been selected for.

All teams and related tournament information will be posted on the Website.

Note that if you are an Active Player and do not respond to your SMS/Email notices for 3 consecutive years we will assume that you are no longer Active.



Who can I ask for a Selection Letter?

Once you have been selected for a Tournament your Selection Letter is automatically made available to you on the Border Seniors Tennis website.

You can access your Letter from your Player Profile page. To get to your Player Profile page click 'Players Database' on the above menu and choose 'Search Database' . In the space provided for Name, type EITHER your first name OR surname and then click 'Submit'.

The next page will show any player in the database with that first name or surname. Click on your name to view your Player Profile.

NOTE: If you do not get any results from your search, click 'Players Database' on the above menu and choose 'View Database'. Find your name in the list and click on it.

Click on the name of the tournament(s) you have been selected for in your "Tournament History" and the Selection letter for that Tournament will be displayed.



How much do I owe Border Seniors?

Any player can access their latest Invoice from their Player Profile page. To get to your Player Profile page click 'Players Database' on the above menu and choose 'Search Database' . In the space provided for Name, type EITHER your first name OR surname and then click submit.

The next page will show any player in the database with that first name or surname. Click on your name to view your Player Profile.

NOTE: If you do not get any results from your search, click 'Players Database' on the above menu and choose 'View Database'. Find your name in the list and click on it.

Once you are viewing your Player Profile you can click on the text "NB: Please click here to view or print your Invoice" to get your latest invoice.



My Contact Details are incorrect, how do I update them?

Your Contact Details are very important to us. Without them you will not be asked for your availability for Tournaments. To correct any part of your contact information please email us at admin@bordervetstennis.co.za with the correct information.



How do I add or change something on the Calendar?
You will need to email us at admin@bordervetstennis.co.za so add or change something on the Calendar. When submitting a Calendar Item please include as much information as possible. As a minimum we need:
  • Date(s);
  • Contact details of person for entries;
  • Venue;
  • Closing Date for Entries;
  • Type of Tournament (Singles/Dbls/Mixed);
  • Restriction (Open, Junior, Seniors, Invitation)
